"Love Me Again" is a hit vocal by English singer John Newman. The song was released as a digital download in Europe on 17 May 2013, except for the United kingdom where it was released on 30 June 2013 as the atomic number 82 single from his debut studio album, Tribute (2013). The song was written past Newman and Steve Booker and produced by Booker and Mike Spencer. The song was later on featured on the soundtrack for video game FIFA 14.
It was nominated for the Brit Award for British Single of the Twelvemonth at the 2014 BRIT Awards[one] and nominated for the 2014 Ivor Novello Award for All-time Song Musically and Lyrically.
Groundwork [edit]
In an interview with Digital Spy, Newman was asked if he sensed that the song had something special about information technology in the studio. He said, "Yeah. The guy I wrote information technology with (Steve Booker), we turned around and had massive grins on our faces thinking, 'There'due south something good here'. Just you but never know how skilful it is, you know?".
Newman was also asked if it was hard to write the lyrics about love and break-upwards, he said, "No, it's the only place where I actually open up to somebody, through my music. I'grand producing [the album] and writing it, it'due south good. I like to continue a hold of everything".[2]
With the chord progression of Gm—Bb—Dm—C, the song is written in the central of K Dorian. The key signature is in D small-scale. Both are modes of F major, of which either one tin can be used every bit the tonic annotation/chord, because, however, the F major chord is not nowadays in the song.[3]
Music video [edit]
Ii music videos, both with elements of Northern soul dancing, have been released for "Honey Me Once again". One version[4] directed by Vaughan Arnell is based on the archetype dear story of Romeo and Juliet.[5] The woman in the video, Juliet, is French extra Margaux Billard, advisedly watched over by her brother, Tybalt, played by Joseph Steyne. The Romeo, is British model Tommy-Lee Winkworth. This video ends in a cliffhanger as they become run over by a truck and their fate remains unknown till Newman's follow-up single "Cheating", which starts with a newspaper article indicating that they had indeed survived the crash, which was a hitting-and-run accident.
Another version features Newman, backed by musicians, singing in a dimly lit room.[6]

In popular civilization [edit]
"Dearest Me Again" was featured on the soundtrack of video game FIFA 14,[8] giving it a cult status amidst FIFA fans, as well as the Federation'southward #WorldCupAtHome series, which opened FIFA'due south archive during the COVID-19 pandemic. It also appeared in the closing credits of the 2014 science fiction moving-picture show, Edge of Tomorrow, starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt. The vocal was too featured on the American Goggle box series, Suits in the episode, "Buried Secrets", which aired on half dozen March 2014, and in the opening scenes of the beginning episode of season 4, "One-Ii-Iii Go", which aired 11 June 2014. "Love Me Once again" is besides a playable song in Merely Dance 2015. The vocal was also used as the theme to the television show Whiskey Condescending which debuted in February 2019 and ended in May afterwards one season.[9] In August 2020 and May 2021 it was used in TV and radio adverts for National Runway.
The French channel TF6 also used this vocal to shutdown its aqueduct.
